Senior Business Analyst - Application Server/SQL (4-7 yrs) (Zispl)

Position Summary :

The primary responsibility of the Senior Business Analyst is responsible for application implementation and development on a team as we translate strategy and requirements into implemented and supported business critical systems. The focus of the position will be centered on the successful evolution of the Application Solutions portfolio to modern best practice-based solutions supporting the company's business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

- Develops and maintains applications and databases by evaluating client needs; analyzing requirements; developing software systems.

- Enhances staff accomplishments and competence by planning delivery of solutions; answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members; teaching improved processes; mentoring team members.

- Identifies requirements by establishing personal rapport with stakeholders to understand service requirements.

- Arranges project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements; preparing a work flowchart and diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic.

- Programs software and configure systems using computer languages, scripting languages, and configuration utilities.

- Confirms program operation by conducting tests; modifying program sequence and/or codes.

- Maintains computer systems and programming guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.

- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

- Keeps equipment operational by calling for repairs; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; evaluating new equipment.

- Protects operations by keeping information confidential.

- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements :

- 4+ years- experience in the implementation of Industry Software Applications.

- 4 + years of software development experience. Strong Proficiency in productivity tools such as Microsoft Office.

- 2+ years serving as in a team leadership role

- 2+ years of Property/Casualty Insurance & Technology related experience desirable

- Experience with Insurity's Bridge product as a configurator desirable-. THIS ONE IS KEY

- Experience with distributed and services-based architectures.

- User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments

- Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one or more systems

- Solid knowledge and experience with web-oriented development to include HTML, JavaScript, CSS, server-side scripting and coding (NodeJS, Python, PHP, Net, Java, or other common languages), applications infrastructure including application servers, database servers, identity management and other required components.

 - Experience reading data via SQL or CSV exports

- Proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows environments

- Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds

- Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application

- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git

- Experience using and writing SOAP and RESTful web services

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems or analytical related studies required.
