Technical Support Engineer - Troubleshooting (3-5 yrs) (Okda Solutions)

We are looking for technical support engineers to provide support and monitoring for our critical production applications. Your primary responsibility will be to provide operational monitoring and the initial response and triaging of all issues for applications. You will handle incoming support tickets and provide timely and effective communication to customers. You will also perform an initial investigation to resolve issues and escalate them in a timely manner. You may also act as a point of contact for customers in production and assist with onboarding, triaging, coordinating deployments with customers and internal teams. As the Team grows we will need to bring in application engineers at different experience levels.

Responsibilities

- Troubleshooting and solving technical issues and defects

- On-call rotation for monitoring and resolving alerts and production issues

- As a 24x7 function, the support team requires engineers to work in shifts,

- Handles incoming tickets, provide timely updates to ensure the best customer experience

- Continuously develop technical skills in supporting products and services

- Proactively look for opportunities to address technical or process gaps

- Point of contact for a group of customers taking lead on production onboarding, triaging issues, coordinating deployment and other production activities for the customer applications.

Requirements :

- BS degree in Computer Science or related field

- 2-4 years of experience in PHP or Go with SQL is preferred. Experience in Python or Java is ok.

- Strong written and oral communication skills

- A flexible, can-do attitude with a willingness to compromise and aptitude for learning

- Problem-solving skills and experience in basic troubleshooting of web applications.

- Prior experience in implementing and/or supporting cloud applications is desirable

- Nice to have some exposure in a combination of technologies such as LAMP, AWS, REST, iOS, Android, React, or other UI frameworks and databases.

The below gives more understanding about the role :

- More of an operational role - should follow procedures

- Quick first response during on-call. This is the primary focus of the role.

- Monitoring alerts and incoming support tickets. Troubleshoot as per documented procedures.

- Participate in 24x7 shifts and weekend shifts.

- Expected to do some technical code debugging and troubleshooting. Develop full debugging/ code fixing skills in platform over time as they grow in the company.

Technical Skills :

- Some prior knowledge of coding or debugging in PHP. Python and Java can be considered by looking at the overall profile but preference is given to PHP

- Support Experience: Great to have but not mandatory.

- The role requires talking to customers over the phone/zoom. Inviting other members for the call. Taking notes diligently.
