About this role :
We're looking for an enthusiastic an Engineering Lead to lead an Engineering team and deliver outstanding experiences for users and help implement improvements to existing codebase.
What you'll do :
- Hire and retaining high quality talent to join a world class Engineering Team
- Lead a team that delivers outstanding software that improves user experience across multiple form factors with attention to functionality and reliability.
- Mentor and develop great engineering talent including yearly goals and performance review.
- Analyze, troubleshoot. and optimize cloud based applications and code for quality, efficiency, and performance.
- Work closely with product owners and other engineering teams to solve complex business problems.
- Collaborate with your team and work in an environment where all responsibilities are shared across your team
- Design and implement new solutions including software design, architecture, coding, testing and delivering. Own the whole SDLC of your applications.
- Integrate multiple components and/or services into complex solutions that may involve security, authentication, authorization, accessibility, performance, reliability, observability, logging, and/or resiliency.
- Part of our technology stack you may be exposed to: Laravel/Lumen, React (Redux), Git (GitHub), IaaS (Terraform), componentization (Docker, Kubernetes), MySQL, Memcache/Redis.
- Serve your team by being their point of contact for all technical and non-technical needs.
What you'll need :
- 6+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership role
- Experience building maintainable and testable code bases, including experience writing tests
- Experience building solutions that integrate multiple components and/or services (Cloud services and APIs)
- Experience building and consuming APIs. Experience working with PHP, and familiarity with modern OOP paradigm overall and common software design patterns
- Willingness to learn (or experience with) PHP and Javascript, and related frameworks and libraries (including React, TypeScript, Laravel/Lumen)
- Experience working under Agile-based development cycles and processes (for example Scrum)
- Experience with relational databases and SQL
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A sense of humor and passion for engineering, learning, and teamwork is a must!
Things that would really impress us :
- Experience with cloud computing environments/architectures/services (AWS preferable)
- Experience in SOA
- Experience with security and networking implication and best practices within the SDLC
- Full-stack experience
