Job Description :
- You should be an enthusiastic and experienced Test Automation Engineer to join the development team which builds our core learning platform. This team develops desktop and mobile websites using PHP, HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript. You will contribute to the delivery of AVADO's product development strategy, ensuring that quality and integrity of the product is maintained in all releases.
- You will be working with other developers, product owners and learning technologists to extend and enhance our Moodle-based platform to support hundreds of thousands of online learners. You will be working across the stack, coding in Behat and Selenium scripts.
- Above all, your team's work will help hundreds of thousands of online learners to develop their professional and digital skills each year.
- This role is for the ITS team who provide services and support to Mumbai, UK and client infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Designing and writing test automation scripts using test automation frameworks.
- Coach the development team (based in London and Mumbai) with testing standards, tools and techniques
- Increase the quality of releases into production
- Provide estimates for test activities.
- Ensure that quality standards are adhered to during the development of products.
- Create, execute and troubleshoot automated test scenarios across our systems.
- Investigate the root cause of problems encountered in software during testing
- Collaborate with other developers, product owners and learning technologists
- Ensure cross-browser testing is covered for a learning platform
- Ensure the stress level of the application are measured and maintained
- Ensure load test is executed before every release and SLAs are met
- Pitch in where needed as a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional team
Minimum Job Requirements :
- Minimum 4+ years of overall experience required.
- Minimum 3+ years of working experience creating high quality, scalable and secure PHP/JavaScript/HTML/CSS applications and selenium framework.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in working with Object-Oriented PHP.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience working with modern quality methods, framework, debugging and automation techniques and experience in automation scripting using Behat, PHP and/or PHPunit
- Minimum 1+ year of experience in Behaviour Driven development/testing (BDD) tools, like Cucumber/JBehave and TDD, BDD and load testing tools e.g. Jmeter/Load Runner
Nice To Have :
- Familiarity with some or all: Bitbucket, Gherkin, HTML5, CSS3, Git/Bitbucket/JIRA, CI/CD/DevOps tools like Puppet, Chef, Salt, Terraform
- Agile Methodology
- A Bachelor's Degree or higher
- Good understanding of IT Infrastructure - Servers, OS, Networking, Security, protocols, IIS etc.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Willingness to learn and adopt new technology skill sets
