Guidecraft works closely with publishers, universities, distributors, and retailers to bring products to the early childhood education and consumer markets that positively impact the lives of children and families. Our products include preschool and consumer furniture and toys.
- Guidecraft Inc., is seeking a Lead Full Stack Website Developer who will be responsible for building, maintaining, and improving our company's websites. The candidate will expand upon our current eCommerce setup, built on wordpress & woocommerce, by maximizing efficiencies in driving sales through proper SEO techniques, streamlining the shopping experience, etc.
- The websites will need to function differently and effectively across boarders (i.e. display country specific content that does not face issues with firewalls, like in China). The website must be responsive, search engine optimized, clean and attractive.
- The candidate will work with local and international design and marketing teams. Our aim is to grow our website into a strong channel for eCommerce and branding.
- In this role, one needs to be able work effectively with team members across different borders and cultures. The Lead Full Stack Web Developer reports to the Director of E-Commerce and Digital Marketing in New York.
ABOUT YOU : You are a team leader, and experienced web developer, a problem solver, and an adaptive learner/teacher.
Responsibilities :
- It is a remote position, but you will be working as a full-time consultant in collaboration with the I.T team based in India.
- The working hours and holidays will be according to the country you are working in.
- You should have experience on SEO, Google Advertising/Tags like Google Tag Manager, Analytics, Adwords, Merchant Center(Shopping), feeds, structured data etc.
- You will directly report to our team in United States, and work closely to our global teams, so excellent communication skills in English are required.
- You will take ownership of our websites and lead the efforts in improving our websites.
- You will be responsible for development, testing and maintenance of our e-commerce and branding websites.
- You would also be required to provide support for the team members for any website/technical needs.
- It will be your responsibility for up and running all the websites, inventory updates, testing the critical features regarding e-commerce and providing a secure interface to our customers.
- Your role will be to lead the backend development project/team and deliver projects and tasks in deadlines.
- We use several tools like Office 365(SharePoint, Planner), NetSuite, Order desk, Salsify, Easy Cron etc. So, experience of these tools will be a plus.
- We use Amazon Market Place Web Services(MWS) for inventory management, so experience on it will be a plus.
- Experience on building/implementing third party libraries/API is must.
- Our projects are hosted on Wpengine server(Google Cloud Platform), so you will be required to setup SFTP, SSH, SSL, Cache, CDN and Utilities etc.
- You will be responsible for preventing loss of data and maintain privacy of customers.
- You should have very good experience working with Crons.
- Experience in creating wordpress plugins will be a plus. We use several custom plugins on our websites and we also use theme/plugin overrides for customization.
Technical Skills :
- Able to communicate professionally in English
- BS in computer science or a related field, or significant equivalent experience.
- 5+ years minimum proven working experience in web programming/design in WordPress in particular and other web platforms.
- Excellent knowledge of PHP & MySql.
- Excellent programming skills and in-depth knowledge of modern HTML/HTML5, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, JQuery, SQL, Bootstrap, etc.
- Familiarity with frontend E-commerce structure, social media integration, SEO, Analytics integration.
- Experience with Salsify a plus
- Experience launching websites in multiple languages and countries is a plus
- Experience in web design and front-end UI/UX development
- Problem solving skills and algorithms.
- Good understanding of Custom Post types & Custom fields(ACF fields etc).
- Experience on working on WooCommerce stores.
- Object oriented programming concepts.
- API design and implementation.
- Amazon Market Place Webservices(MWS) API.
- Web hosting/Wpengine/AWS.
- Adding/editing cron jobs.
- Google Advertising tools(Webmaster, Merchant Center, Google Tag Manager, Adwords etc)
- Handling Multilingual Website.
- Strong JavaScript, jQuery and JSON concepts.
- REST APIs.
- SEO and structured data concepts.
- Cyber security(SQL Injection, Sanitization, Cross-site scripting(XSS), SSL etc).
