- Atleast 3+ years proficiency managing Linux-based systems and AWS.
- Debian knowledge and package management a plus- preferred other environments also will do.
- Must be able to write administrative programs in sh, sed/awk. Python desirable, Perl a plus.
- Good experience administering web applications based on PHP, Java (JSP). Must be skilled with Apache.
- Good experience supporting RDBMS and no SQL like MySQL, Mongodb etc.
- Experience in monitoring servers and applications.
- Experience in hardware and networking: L3 switches, Load Balancers, firewalls, VPNs, ISCSI, RAID etc.
- Ability to work closely with QA and release engineering.
- Knowledge of SCM, defect tracking. Past experience in QA a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical discussions.
- Background in security (code auditing, intrusion detection, vulnerability testing) desirable.
- Experience with colocation facilities, data center infrastructure a plus.
- Strong inclination towards automation with use of tools like ansible, chef, puppet etc.
