JOB SUMMARY
MIT-WPU is currently looking for Full Stack Engineer who can turn ideas into extremely reliable, beautifully written code that other people - or you, six months into the future - will find easy to comprehend and modify. You have mastered more than one technology stack in your life, and you are comfortable with the idea of mastering several more. You're competent at high levels and low levels. Technology is a means and not the ends for you, and you don't flinch at the idea of migrating legacy OOP systems to Functional while focusing on zero downtime.
The successful candidate must be a strong team player, extremely well organized, detail-oriented, quality-minded and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
KEY SKILLS:
Required: WordPress, Solutions Development, PHP, Azure, AWS, Version Control, HTML5, CSS3, MySQL, Cloud Technologies, relational databases, JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, React and Amber, DevOps, node.js/js/jquery/ajax, Bootstrap, Integration with RESTful API with Server, JSON/SOAP Request/Response.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform website development and management
- Conduct regular updates, optimisations to ensure website stability and digital marketing compliance
- Deploy websites, conduct upgrades to environments in AWS/ AZURE.
- Integrating website to other university systems and 3rd party applications.
- Build/ maintain mobile apps/ websites.
- QA Testing: Perform preliminary investigation and work with the respective component owners to resolve the technical issues. Helps with application, system, functional, and regression testing.
- Developing front end website architecture.
- Designing user interactions on web pages.
- Developing back end website applications.
- Creating servers and databases for functionality.
- Ensuring cross-platform optimization for mobile phones.
- Ensuring responsiveness of applications.
- Working alongside graphic designers for web design features.
- Seeing through a project from conception to finished product.
- Designing and developing APIs.
- Meeting both technical and consumer needs.
- Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages.
DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE
Required:
1. Graduated in technical discipline or equivalent professional experience in computer science (BEB.TechM.TechMCAM.Sc) and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
2. Expertise in relevant front-end coding languages (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3)
3. Expertise in relevant back-end coding languages and frameworks (Java, Spring, Spring Boot)
4. Comfort working with various JavaScript libraries (jQuery, Backbone.js, RequireJS, Bootstrap and Leaflet)
5. Experience with any Relational Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and SQL scripts.
6. Experience building custom interface components and clean, portable code
7. Good understanding of frontend development concepts (client-side versus server-side, responsive web design, cross-browser compatibility)
8. Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills
9. Solid understanding of software engineering best practices (code reviews, source control, build processes, testing)
10.Ongoing curiosity for new technologies, approaches, and solutions
11.Excellent time management and organizational skills.
12.Strong ownership to drive the projects from inception.
13.Proven problem solving, risk mitigation and analytical skills.
14.Able to communicate technical concepts to technical & non-technical audiences.
15.Ability to engage and influence multiple levels through functional boundaries
16.Must have a solid working knowledge of Business Intelligence concepts.
Preferred:
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills with small and large groups
- Strong analytical skills with ability to understand/ handle university complexities
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree (preferably from a top reputed university)
