What is the recruitment process:
- As a small team (~26 folks), it's imperative that we get to know each other before taking the leap. We want to ensure you succeed in your role within our team. Each conversation with us will last about 40-75 minutes, except the first call which is a short one to understand expectations. Typically the whole process takes between 10 - 15 business days depending on your and our schedules. The process will occur over telephonic calls, so you don- t need to worry about travel.
- Setting expectations: This will be a call to understand your profile and expectations briefly.
- Skill Assessment Task: This will be a task that assesses you on some of the core skills you- ll need to succeed in this role.
- Technical conversation: This will be a telephonic call with a senior member of the team wherein you can expect to be evaluated on your functional skills and other competencies needed for the job, mentioned below.
- Culture fit conversation: A telephonic conversation with one of our founders to ensure that there is a fit with the Kraftshala Kode.
- Extending an offer: If all goes well, we will extend an offer mentioning the relevant details.
Compensation:
- You should expect 10 - 12 lacs INR / annum as your salary depending on past experience and comfort with various technology frameworks, with a 85-15 split between fixed and variable
- You will also receive equity worth 8 - 10 lacs INR vested over a standard 4 year schedule.

Senior Developer- Backend Role Description
What you will be doing:
Product Development:
We operate a number of consumer products across web and mobile that are used by thousands of India's high potential professionals to learn, get mentored from business leaders and transform their careers. These products are built on React.js and Redux in the front-end and PHP and Node.js with MongoDB and MySQL in the back-end.
Your goal will be to take these products to the next level of user experience.
Team leadership:
- Kraftshala started by subcontracting it's technology development to an external partner, and over the last year has shifted all product development in-house by creating a new team. We are very much a young team in the making, and are looking for someone who- d enjoy:
- Responsibility to chart out the tech roadmap for Kraftshala
- Independence to figure their own problem-solving approaches
- Grooming interns and other junior developers as a defacto team lead
Must Haves:
- 2-3 years of experience as a part of a consumer product-oriented team (We are not too fussed about the number of years. Experience is simply a proxy for capability, which is what we really care for).
- Proficient knowledge in Laravel and Node.js
- The ability to understand & design REST APIs and Web Development Architecture
- Good knowledge of relational database systems such as MySQL and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
- Strong product design sensibilities and obsessive attention to detail
- Ability to take complex problems and break them down into smaller tasks
- Ability to manage a hosting environment, including database administration as well as scaling applications to handle load changes
Good to Haves :
- Experience of working on large scale PHP applications with React.js
- Experience of leading a team
- Contributions to the open-source ecosystem
Location :
While our office is in Delhi, we are on work from home (WFH) till June 2021. We are perfectly okay if you- d prefer to WFH even after the Covid crisis recedes.
