Senior Software Engineer - PHP
US based Company is seeking a full stack, PHP/JavaScript/PostGres Software Engineer to build and launch products. We are an early stage startup and you will work in an environment where all members work together to create innovative and scalable solutions. This is a great opportunity to showcase your technical skills and solve challenging problems. You will be required to build solutions that cover the full application technology stack, i.e. UI to the database, including deployment to the cloud and must be motivated to succeed and explore new ideas based upon your own creativity and enthusiasm. As an early stage hire you will be instrumental in helping us build a company and culture that people want to work at, and a product that delights our users.
You must have 8+ years of relevant work experience.
Essential Job Functions :
- Build outstanding products for XoomBoard that's scalable, robust and secure
- Write functional, clean, modular code
- Write design/technology specs as required
- Must be willing to work partial US East coast hours (till ~ 2.00 pm EST)
Knowledge, skills and abilities required :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 8+ years software development experience
- Good knowledge of PHP / Laravel / PostGres / SQL / Rest API
- Good knowledge of JavaScript (JQuery, React or similar) / CSS / HTML
- Experience with deploying PHP apps to cloud (GCP preferred)
- Experience with GIT (or similar), Jira, Jenkins
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in Europe/US based projects
- Can lead a small team of engineers
- Can learn on your own, do the research, take initiative
- A sense of urgency and strong ownership
- Attention to detail
Nice to have skills :
- Experience with developing chrome extensions (or gmail plugins)
- Mobile App development
- Continuous integration/deployment
- Need to have good communication and extend working
- Candidate will work remotely
