About this Role :

Responsible for driving performance and stability improvements of our critical applications and infrastructure to ensure optimal end-user experience working closely with Development and Operations teams. Also responsible for creating performance test plans, scripts and execution of performance tests, followed by an analysis of application's full stack to identify bottlenecks.

What you'll do :

- Create NFR (non-functional requirements) for applications and ensure performance is considered early in the SDLC.

- Work with business and development leads to create comprehensive performance test plans with well-defined scenarios, reusable test cases

- Record and create performance test scripts in JMeter

- Execute the performance tests and analyze the results data from JMeter and APM data from APM tools like Dynatrace or New Relic or App Dynamics, log data from Splunk

- Communicate and present performance results to the required stakeholders

- Strategize and create scripts for services and UI in automation build pipelines to measure the performance of services and UI and enable provide rapid feedback loop to the developer

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of developers, system engineers, DBAs, architects, and app owners to identify, document and recommend performance improvement solutions

- Provide deep dive and forensic analysis to assist on performance enhancements and identification of application defects. Use analysis to make recommendations and drive results

- Profile and identify performance hot spots & optimize the performance of Java, IIS, PHP applications, etc.

- Assist Cloud Teams and Platform teams in monitoring infrastructure capacity and identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing performance or stability

What you'll need :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.

- 7+ years of information technology experience, with 4+ years working on load testing, improving performance and working with/in the development team

- Experience in performance testing strategies and tools such as JMeter

- Experience in working with Development or Operations team and performing root cause analysis with a good working knowledge of application, processes and operating system

- Experience in troubleshooting using APM tools such as Dynatrace or AppDynamics or New Relic

- Experience in triaging browser performance issues using developer tools or similar

- Experience in development, code profiling on one of the technologies like Java, IIS, PHP is a plus

- Exposure to emerging technologies such as microservices, containers, cloud services, etc. is a plus

- Exposure to resiliency testing or chaos simulations

- Ability to work independently and partner with team members with a strong sense of initiative and drive

- Excellent verbal & written communication with data-driven analysis
