An experienced hands-on practitioner of IT delivery who works with stakeholders across the business to build and deliver our next-generation solutions to produce content for the IT developer community. You will work closely with a product owner, IT team, and business functions to deliver solutions.
As a Squad Leader, you will be accountable for deliveries from your team.
By being technically hands-on, you will take responsibility for specifying, developing, deploying and maintaining software produced by you and your team. You will have developed and delivered back-office solutions before using SuiteCRM and Laravel, providing insight and best practices.
Being part of a self-contained delivery team, you will need to be able to operate at multiple levels, pragmatic and be able to deliver change at pace.
As a leader, you will empower and motivate your team by driving a shared identity, values, and purpose through the ownership of products.
You will be part of the IT Leadership Team and help drive governance and architecture across IT.
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the growth and leadership of the team. Develop and maintain a skill profile of the team, ensuring that the team is always capable of executing all relevant tasks to deliver agreed solutions. Take responsibility of line management of team members including recruitment and selection of new team members.
- Leading the planning and execution of development and delivery of each release of one or more products to a high standard. Ensure products are delivered on time, on budget and to quality. Promoting and assuring use of the agreed agile methodologies and tools.
- Support and actively maintain products that are in production. Work closely with the service and infrastructure team for the day-to-day running of solutions.
- Developing a deep understanding of domains, customers, products and technologies. Lead us on innovation and design by maintaining an awareness of opportunities provided by new technologies and practices to address challenges and enable new ways of working.
- Maintains a strong relationship with the Product Owner and other stakeholders to ensure satisfaction and expectation management.
Requirements
- Proven track record of success in a leadership role with strong skills in people management, mentoring, and coaching.
- Stakeholder management skills, be able to work closely with our users, solve problems, be pragmatic and help steer solutions to best meet the needs of the business.
- Expertise with solution design including form/UX design, process design and database modeling.
- Strong programming ability in PHP and working with MySQL databases.
- Expertise in using SuiteCRM to deliver complex solutions to a large user base.
- Data modeling experience.
- Experience in developing using PHP frameworks such as Laravel.
- Ability to work under broad direction and from self-initiation. Optimism, energy, and resilience in conditions of uncertainty and ambiguity.
- Understanding of the principles and practices of software security
- Possess broad and deep knowledge of the software development process and practice, including agile methods.
- Exceptional written and verbal business communication skills. Stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts.
- Understanding of risk management and managing expectations.
