We are looking for a PHP Laravel developer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of web application and custom solutions.The developer will lead the entire life cycle right from concept stage until delivery and post-launch support. Web apps will be mainly content based and integrated closely with other services. In addition to delivering a successful product, the candidate will be heavily involved in driving the web product strategy globally.
Main tasks and responsibilities :
- Acting as lead Web developer. Depending on the skills set can be lead on one platform and play a supporting role across the other.
- Working closely with another mobile app developer leading the other platform development.
- Deliver across the entire app life cycle - concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores and support.
- Working directly with developers and product managers to conceptualize, build, test and realize products.
- Gather requirements around functionality and translate those requirements into elegant functional solutions.
Person specification:
- Proven commercial software development experience - desktop and mobile.
- Published examples of web application and websites.
- Excellent knowledge in information architecture, human-computer interaction and usability design principles.
- A track record of delivering successful consumer and or business products.
- Ability to use analytic data and user testing to inform design decisions.
Essential skills:
- Hands on experience with SQL schema design, SOLID principles, REST API design.
- In depth knowledge of object-oriented PHP and Laravel 5 PHP Framework.
- Knowledge of SQLite, MySQL or similar database management system.
- Software testing (PHPUnit, PHPSpec, Behat).
- Experience on web service integration (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML).
- MySQL profiling and query optimization.
- Experience using social media APIs.
- Using version control (e.g. SVN). - Excellent debugging and optimisation skills.
