Key Responsibilities Areas :
- Supporting the maintenance of the GeM web application and the development of new features
- Serve as the lead technical resource for the GeM web application development
- Maintain documentation and working knowledge into specifications and ensuring development quality and delivery on time
- Responsible for real-time issue resolution of issues on production systems related to marketplace functionality
- Work towards maintaining good design and software coding standards and developing efficient application business logic
- Work collaboratively with the GeM MSP to implement scalable technical architecture and ensure good unit test coverage
- Identify opportunities for improving quality and efficiency and participates in process improvement initiatives
- Any other responsibility as assigned by the competent authority from time to time
Qualifications and Skill Sets :
a) Mandatory :
- Minimum 10 years experience with 8-10 years of experience working with high scale web applications - live website traffic, consumer-facing is preferred
- Minimum of 5 years PHP, Java, Ruby on Rails and JS web development experience and experience with the LAMP stack
- Strong experience with modern HTML/CSS
- Competent in web services integrations (REST/SOAP)
b) Preferred :
- Have experience optimizing web server configurations and scaling web applications
- Experience with at least one other programming language such as Ruby, Java, or Python is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of software build cycles
- Experience in working on Agile methodology
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, are required for daily interaction with team members
