Key Responsibilities :
- Must be able to drive accurate estimations, sprint plans and timely deployments
- Must be able to drive migration plan from, let's say an old tech stack like PHP, to a more modern API stack, let's say based on Java Spring or Node.
- Must be able to navigate through situations where the scope may be ambiguous
- Must be able to drive engineering excellence in the team via a culture of encouraging peer code reviews, writing unit tests and defining system design.
- Should be able to lead and hire both front-end (Web, iOS, Android) and backend developers
- Should be able to lead and manage outsourced development and be able to create a roadmap to bring all development in-house.
Skill & Experience Required :
- 7+ years of experience providing Tech leadership to a team. If you have played an Individual Contributor role as a Tech lead, you are welcome to step up in a full-fledged Engineering Manager role.
- Hands-on experience with Node.js, Restful APIs, relational and non-relational databases
- Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud platform (EC2, API gateway, S3, RDS, Code Deploy)
- Great communication skills (verbal and written), analytical skills and presentation skills
- Lots of drive, self-motivator.
- A - Figure things out- kind of person, if you are looking for a well-defined, structured role with fixed responsibilities we are probably not the right fit. We will expect you to come figure stuff out with us!
- An Infinite Learner - If you are not hungry to learn, we won't be a good fit. We want to be able to learn from you as well, so we'll love it if you come with some deep knowledge or domain expertise from a previous job
