Job Description :
- We are chotu, an ecommerce platform dedicated for gated communities. Corona has forced communities to buy together, however community-buying as a concept is absent in India. chotu will fix this. Group-buying can help communities discover finest quality at better prices, while local brands get better market access.
- Mission: to build the most community-centric commerce platform in India (yes, we are inspired by Amazon).
chotu is founded by IIT-IIM team which earlier built successful consumer startups and has led large biz at telecom & technology firms.
Current Stage: MVP
- We built an MVP on wooCommerce with a remote team, conducted campaigns to test the community-buying hypotheses. We are now looking to build a robust product, which can scale across India.
- We are looking to onboard a hand-on CTO, who can not only take quick decisions but also roll-up the sleeves to write code, if necessary. The entire tech team has to be built by the CTO, hence we are looking at someone who can bring in more team members.
As a CTO, we expect you to :
a. Build a solid team and ofcourse a solid product
b. Be frugal, be scrappy. We will worry about scale when the business scales.
c. Keep it simple. If the tech can't be understood by a 5th grader, then it is too complicated.
d. Take quick decisions: build vs buy.
e. Ship, ship, ship! Every week!
f. Demonstrate maniacal community-centricity. We mean it.
Qualifications, Experience & Attitude :
- Bachelor / Master's degree in CS
- 10+ years of hands-on tech experience in ecommerce
- A hunger to build a great product and leave a legacy
Required Skill :
- Demonstrated experience in large scale wooComm/WP/PHP development, mobile and web applications
- Prior ecommerce experience mandatory
- Experience in working in a highly collaborative environment
- Strong communication and convincing skill
