Job Description :
Turing.com is looking for a Back-end Engineer on behalf of a membership-based e-commerce platform with over $200mn in funding. The developer will work autonomously and will be responsible for driving critical initiatives that help scale the mission forward while evolving the platform. The company leverages innovative technology to deliver high-quality, healthy, and sustainable products. The selected candidate will join the team to consistently innovate and build highly performant and scalable services to ensure delightful customer experiences. This is a full-time, long-term role that requires at least 5 hours of time overlap with PST.
Job Responsibilities :
- Build services that enable fresh customer experiences
- Develop existing services into microservices that scale
- Build scalable services and provide relatively low latency as the need increases, while leveraging the right tools such as languages, databases, serverless, distributed streaming, etc
- Test-driven development from the get-go, to protect customer experience and build speed and reliability into the development process
- Incorporate meaningful metrics into new services and functionalities and evangelize them
- Work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and restore function
- Work closely with the product team and innovate on game-changing ideas for the Customer
- Create discussions around architecture and code design choices where appropriate
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 5-10 years of architecting experience, will also be hands-on coding
- Experience handling complexity and understanding the impacts of different changes and features being added in order to advise the business people about the impacts
- Experience coding in any language
- Previous experience working with PHP, dealing with Magento, and open to coding in Golang
- Proficient with complex backends (AdTech, FinTech, E-Commerce), AWS, and distributed system
- Understand scaling and performance in a microservice architecture
- Experience using version control such as Git
- Able to prioritize Customer, Team, and Business ahead of everything else on a consistent basis
