Primary Responsibilities :
- The senior Drupal developer will be responsible for the design and development of high volume/high transaction websites. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable history of delivering high-quality websites including a significant contribution to the architecture and design of the site.
- This individual will understand the complexities of concurrency and scalability and will be up to date with modern practices of web technologies. The senior developer will often be called upon to lead and mentor less senior developers.
Primary responsibilities include :
- Responsible for utilizing and extending the Drupal content management system where necessary to develop high volume/high transaction websites
- External API integration, development of internal APIs as needed for tools extensibility.
- Custom programming and web application development where needed.
- Complete unit test coverage of non-trivial code.
- Document and communicate designs.
- Follow standards for all deliverables as defined by the Bluefin Associates US technical team.
- Collaborate with other internal and external members of the team including graphics designers, functional designers, etc to deliver required functionality.
- Participate in cross-group collaboration across multiple time zones.
- Develop estimates for effort, time and cost for development initiatives and participate in project planning activities.
- Provide regular status updates and feedback against your commitments and the commitments of less senior developers operating under your leadership.
- Advise management about any perceived roadblocks, issues, and risk factors regarding the schedule and/or costs.
Required Skills : Extensive knowledge of :
- Drupal CMS and development framework including Themes, Modules, Core, etc.
- Web programming (PHP, Javascript, CSS and JQuerya +, Java a +)
- MySQL database management
- Version control systems (SVN emphasis and CVS, git a +)
- Linux/Unix familiarity
- Proven experience developing professional B2C web sites
- Experience with web development based on open-source platforms
- Experience and understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues
- Multitask effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience with multisite installs, internationalization tools, Performance optimizations.
Preferred Skill Sets :
- Experience with Python, ColdFusion, Ruby on Rails, OFBiz.
- An operations-focused approach to minimize manual system administration, downtime, and infrastructure costs.
- Experience with a cloud computing architecture, such as VMWare ESX, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud, etc.
- Experience in discovery sessions, brainstorming, use case development, requirements gathering and analysis, creating wireframes, defining functional specifications and business rules and performing competitive analysis is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to form effective partnerships across the organization.
- Should be detail-oriented, able to multi-task, prioritize workload, work with frequent interruptions, and cope with sudden high-stress situations.
- Extremely strong oral, written, and presentation communications skills
Industry Work Experience :
- Over 4 years of experience in web development, focusing on designing and implementing high transaction websites. Experience working with a multinational company is highly desired.
